IGOV and UMM held International Seminar on Social Politic

Yogyakarta, November 18th, 2017- Associate University partner of International Program of Government Affairs and Administration, UUM (Universiti Utara Malaysia) visit Yogyakarta functionate MoU between both institutions in form of student and lecturer mobility. In this occasion, IGOV organized international seminar which attended by UUM students which total 17 scholars from vary study fields as well as 2 escort officers who’s becoming the guest speaker in the international seminar. The cooperation has been the 5th time cooperation since the first MoU signed which legalized students from UUM doing mobility in UMY. The international seminar highlighted with the topic of current social politic issue in Southeast Asia comparing Malaysia and Indonesia.
The seminar attended by Dr. Hj. Titin Purwaningsih as the dean of Social and Political Studies Faculty and  H. Eko Priyo Purnomo, M.Res., Ph.D as the head of cooperation and international affairs. It is opened by an epic welcoming dance by IGSC students to introduce traditional dance of Indonesia as well as greets the gueasts which unite with the dance moves. The invited speaker from UMY is Dr. Phil. Ridho Al-hamdi, M.A who rise to speak on the issue of ‘The trajectory of Democracy in Indonesia today and the role of Political Parties’. Mr. Ridho who’s just graduated from Germany is the competencespeaker to talk about the democratization and structural corruption in Indonesia. It follows with the presentation from Dr. Nira Hariyatie Hartani as UUM lecturer concerning on the issue of mother language while Dr. Hazlinda discussed about entrepreneurship. The 4 (four) days visit of UUM students and lecturers expanded to cultural trip in which the students exposed to the traditional Jogja atmosphere, learning batik, visiting famous landmark, and social act (HH)
