Invite Australian Student, Researchers JKSG has Sharing Sessions; Disaster Management.

Yogyakarta (28/6/19), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta has a Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC), Rahmawati Husein,Ph.D as Director for MDMC also researcher in Jusuf Kalla School of Government spoke to students from Australian Students are Curtin University, Perth, Australia. In the sessions are Eko Priyo Purnomo,Ph.D the executive director, Cooperation and International Affairs also Researcher in JKSG.
 

In this session, Rahmawati delivered the efforts to lower the lost from disaster since 1970, MDMC was established in 2010, 9 years ago. Indonesia as which located above Australian has experiences earthquakes range from low until destructive, Indonesia territory  has 127 volcanoes causes a volcanic earthquake. The plan program before-after disaster is Mitigation, the action from MDMC are identification causes and factors to minimize the lost whether for life or property. Disaster are two types, namely: Natural Disaster and man made disaster.
Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) as non-government organization, plays an important role to help in giving services to the community on how deal with the disaster. Rahmawati added student are expected to learn how Indonesia has dealt with disaster both natural and made natural and student can use the knowledge to develop a design which fits on condition of Indonesia or every country where disaster potentially occur.
In Yogyakarta, Disaster caused earthquake has located above Earth Plates and Volcanic Eruption, are Merapi Mountain one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia, erupts at least one every 3 years. In addition, Eko Said “ I hope, the student can be safety and enjoyed in Yogyakarta, because Yogyakarta is a very affordable city for students also can be add information and knowledge about disaster in Indonesia”.
