The government continues to encourage researchers by creating various programs in all fields, both education and outside education. The funds that were disbursed as research funds were not insignificant, for that it needed a lot of the role of researchers so that the funds that had been disbursed were used maximally. Responding to that, in the context of the selection of research proposals for funding in 2020-2022 organized by the Directorate of Research and Community Service, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the Research, Publication & Community Service Institute) Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (LP3M UMY) held a Consignment for Preparation Research and Community Service Grant Proposal to the DRPM community for 2 days, Wednesday and Thursday (August 14-15) at Pesonna Hotel, Yogyakarta.
In the material presented by the Director of Research and Community Service Prof. Dr. Ocky Karna Radjasa, M.Sc. said that the government continues to strive and innovate through community service to help fund research that is feasible and is felt to have a positive impact on society. “This is because the funds provided are expected to return to the community and benefit the community as well,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, UMY Rector, Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto said the success instrument of UMY researchers was the increasing number of proposals being funded and the wider scope of topics that had been studied by UMY researchers. In addition, to make the research more feasible, it needs to be continued to obtain a patent.
“The obstacle that has been experienced by UMY researchers is the lack of time management because researchers must divide their time between teaching, doing vacillations to students and conducting research. However, this obstacle can be overcome by creating a time schedule for teachers for one year so that their activities are more scheduled so that there is less accumulation of tri dharma activities, “he added.
On the same occasion the Head of LP3M Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, M.P said that by holding this event, it could improve the quality and quantity of UMY researchers’ research proposals. “If the research is quality, then downstream will also be quality. This will help improve UMY’s ranking through the field of community service.
