Aceh defended its political paradigm that contradicted the Government of Indonesia in the formation of the Wali Nanggroe Institute.
As stated by Takdir Ali Mukti in the Doctoral Promotion Session that was held by the Political Islam-Political Science Doctoral Program on Thursday, (8/15) in the Postgraduate Room, Lt. 4 Kasman Singodimedjo Building, UMY Integrated Campus. Takdir Ali Mukti explained his dissertation entitled “Political-Paradiplomal Disputes between the Government of Aceh and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in the Establishment of the Wali Nanggroe Institution” before the board of examiners.
Takdir revealed that GAM ideology as the political preference of Aceh Government leaders, both the Executive and Parliament, had a positive influence on efforts to maintain diplomatic political decisions that contradicted the central government as a way to realize the points in the Helsinki MOU by the ideals of GAM’s struggle.
“The political rationality of the Acehnese leaders was greatly influenced by Tiroism which had been firmly embedded in their souls for years before,” he said. The Paradiplomatic Norm has a positive influence on the decision to maintain the politics of the Aceh government. Paradiplomasi as an international norm plays an important role in shaping the interests of the ‘national’ (governance) Aceh.
“The political rationality of the Aceh government leaders found an ideal combination between the spirit of ‘Jihad’ through ‘diplomacy’ with the paradiplomation norm which is customarily carried out by a ‘substate’ / regional or state government,” added Takdir, who is also a Lecturer HI UMY The authority of foreign affairs must be placed in the hands of a Wali Nanggroe, because of his higher position than the Governor and the Aceh parliament. “From this, it can be understood that, in the post-peace context, (para) – the diplomacy carried out by GAM leaders is a part of ‘Jihad’, and not merely an attempt to influence other nations (influence).” Lid Takdir.
The doctoral promotion session was open and witnessed by guests and UMY graduate students. Present as the Board of Examiners included Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, ST., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng (Chair of the Session) Dr. Hasse J, M.A. (Secretary of the Session), Prof. Dr. Tulus Warsito, M.Sc. (Promoter / Examiner I), Dr. Surwandono, M.Sc.
