Friday, March 9th, 2018. Jusuf Kalla School of Government was held The Talkshow on Innovation and Recent Discussion of Indonesian Palm Oil Research in Meeting Room of Director Post graduate, Universitas Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta. The participant come from various groups of lecturers, researchers and planters at least 45 participants was come. This talk show lasted for 2 hours and was guided by Ir Gatot Supangkat as Head of LP3M Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This activity is very helpful and encouraging to provide information for all the lecturers in order to obtain research funds from both the government and private, as presented by Dr. Sukamta as Vice Rector for the Academic Affairs Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Dr. Sukamta also conveyed that the great support from the Daily Development Board (BPH) to the lecturers through research funded by the University is also very helpful lecturers so that later the Universitas Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta can collaborate with other universities. Besides, this event is also expected to provide input and policy to the government in overcoming the existing problems in palm commodities, including also in terms of economic growth, social growth, and how to maintain environmental sustainability. This is also conveyed by the BPDPKS Agency represented by Prayudha Moeljo. In addition, BPDPKS has also been strengthened by Law no. 39 of 2015, presidential decree No.61 of 2015, and several Ministerial regulations. Vice Rector in the field of academic in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta said that BPDPKS has a partner of the Government, Industry, and Academics. Collaboration between partners where funds owned by the industry will be the findings or innovations made by academics so that later will be input by the government and become a product or government policy. The purpose of this activity is more emphasis on increasing productivity, improving aspects, and encouraging the creation of new market products. The master plan in the objectives of the research and development program is more emphasized on the aspect of the creation for being a new market product. Before the agenda will be close, Eko Priyo Purnomo as a researcher of palm commodities also give a speech that all of the academicians, scholar and also professional should be support and give a strengthens to make a better palm oil industry in the future. Prof. Udin Hasanudin as an expert and observer in the field of oil palm plantation also said in last season that the contribution of researchers is needed in the development of palm oil research for the future and focus our attention on self-help farmers (Rossi)
