Welcome to 79 Foreign Students in UMY

As university with a vision to become a Reputable University in Asia by 2020, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta again received 79 foreign students from 14 countries, of which more than in previous years. A total of 50 foreign students underwent full study, 27 people as student exchange participants, and 2 others did internship (internship). The event was officially welcomed by the Rector of UMY, Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, MP along with UMY leaders and Head of UMY Cooperation Bureau in UMY Gathering and Foreign Student Gathering, at Loby Rectorate of UMY, AR Fachruddin building. 1st floor, Monday (16/10). Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto also hoped that the students can enjoy their college experience and live in UMY. They are also expected to learn more about Indonesia, Muslims, and their culture. The same thing also delivered by students from the Philippines, Enrique Batara. Currently Batara who is taking Doctoral Program of Political Science Program recounts his experience at the beginning of college at UMY. He was amazed by the buildings at UMY, from the structure to several existing facilities. But not only that, the competitive class atmosphere is also felt when he entered the classroom. Lecturers who are competent and very helpful to foreign students in the learning process, making this Filipino student feel at college at UMY.
