(July 18, 2019) To support journal managers to achieve accreditation, the Directorate of Intellectual Property Management, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education in collaboration with LP3M (Institute for Research, Publication & Community Service) University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a Workshop on Accreditation and Acceleration The Electronic Scientific Journal is held for 3 days (July 17-19) at Melia Purosani Hotel.

In the event Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, M.P, as the head of LP3M UMY explained that workshops became one important thing in order to encourage an increase in the number of accredited journals.

“We need an increase in quality and quantity for nationally accredited journals and international journals. This is important in order to realize higher education as a research-based university, also because scientific journals become a dissemination medium for the downstream process of research results. Therefore we want to develop a scientific media publication with an electronic medium so that the research articles are published domestically and indexed internationally. This is also as our effort to accommodate current global needs by following the development of information technology, “he said, at the opening of the workshop on Wednesday (17/7).

Next is the Head of the National Scientific Scientific Journal of Kemenristekdikti, Yoga Dwi Arianda, S.T. said that the workshop also aims to meet targets nationally.

“Kemristekdikti mandates that we can achieve the target to produce 7,000 accredited journals, at least accredited SINTA. Until now, around 2400 journals have been accredited and for this we hold this workshop as an effort to pick up and guide journal managers. “The event was held by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education in 45 locations by bringing journal managers from all Indonesian universities that have not been accredited by their journals,” he said.
