Christine B Tenorio

Christine B Tenorio, 23 years of age, is a Filipina born and raised in the Philippines. Studying abroad was difficult for her family, but she insisted as she firmly believes that it is an opportunity that cannot be neglected. Christine finished her Bachelor of Arts major in Political Science at La Salle University, Ozamiz City. Christine took Political Science as a preparatory course to pursue her father’s dream for her to become a lawyer. However, Christine realised that the field of Political Science was not just a preparatory course for law school but open a lot of opportunities to be close to the reality of the government, society and people. As she believes that teacher is also her calling, she took 18 units of Professional Education subjects. After which, Christine pursued Master of Public Administration ar Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology to have a deeper understanding of how the government functions.
After finishing her Master’s degree, Christine taught at La Salle University and University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines as Political Science Instructor. As according to her, the teaching experience developed her to strive learning for her to share her knowledge towards everybody not just for a student. Christine has presented research papers in both national and international conferences. Her research focus is citizen participation in policy-making, which she found out to be missing in policy planning, implementation, and evaluation. Thus, she is looking forward to the new chapter of her life at Yogyakarta as a PhD student of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta under the doctoral program of Political Science.
