Foreigner Discussed about Tolerance Religion in Indonesia

Directorate of Public Diplomacy, Directorate General of Information and Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia has event Friends of Indonesia 2019.
Friday (21/6) Fellowship for Future Ambassadors at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta are 12 foreign diplomats from friends countries participated in discussion activities on Wassatiyah Islam in The Simulation Room of the International Relations Meeting Building on E4 1st Floor of Integrated Campus UMY.
In a discussion of Wassatiyah Islam, three speakers were present about the Special Staff on the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the field of International Religion by Dr. H.Siti Ruhaini, Director of ICRS Hj. Siti Syamsiatun, Ph.D. and Lecture of International Relation by Dr. Sidik Jatmika and moderated by Dian Azmawati, M.A. In Discussion, there are students from International Relation Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
Drawing on discussion, the speaker Sidik Jatmika explained the Islamic Values existed since the first time they entered until now, with upholding the value of strong tolerance. Example are harmonious Hinduism in Kudus, Central of Java. In Kudus are people has Hinduism evidenced by the prohibition on consuming beef, which is in prohibited in Hinduism — and still preserved on this day, with an alternative they consume buffalo meat instead.
 
However, the tolerance value that must be maintained at any time. Director of Public Diplomacy Mr. Aziz Nurwahyudi that in Indonesia has a variety of religions, but the amount of tolerance remains high, and four other religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Catholicism can even carry out its teachings. Meanwhile, in a discussion of Wassatiyah Islam described by Hj. Siti Syamsiatun, Ph.D. (Director of ICRS) said: “Wassatiyah within Muhammadiyah was created as progressing Islam, In Muhammadiyah provided aboard space for women to promote justice, corporation, introduce religiosity and spiritual including personal, social and ecological aspect.”
The events can be expected to be able to provide a board view of Islam, especially for the 12 Foreign Diplomats presents. To reduce the notion of Islam which has been called the extremist, radical and terrorist religion, an example of Islam in Indonesia that can provide peace, harmony and tolerance the presence of other religions, as has been explained by the speakers in discussions.
