The Council of United Nation is agenda on June 19-20 in Westminster, London. Dr.Rachmawati Husein as the representative from Southeast Asia in the council of the United Nations in cases about Advisory Group United Nation Central Emergency Response Funds. Dr. Rachmawati, a vice chairman in Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC).
Dr. Rachmawati Husein, a researcher in Jusuf Kalla School of Government in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta also one only one representative from Southeast Asia in the council of United Nations from October 2018 until October 2021. CERF (Central Emergency Response Funds) there are since 2010, Indonesia first joining as a member of the council united nations. Advisory Group United Nation Central Emergency Response Funds ( AGUNCERF) formed based on the agreement in the board of the United Nations in 2005.
In cases about CERF discussed the strengthening coordination of emergency funding assistance. Dr. Rachmawati Husein as a steering committee in United Nations has a duty to instructions, views, and recommendations to support efforts to utilize, manage, and restore funding for emergency humanitarian assistance, which each year needs increase. The mechanism of CERF is supporting in emergency funds a country causes conflict, war, and kinds of disaster. Also, the emergency funds are given in 48 hours from emergencies.
The Steering committee CERF has the agenda council two times a year, the first agenda in Ireland with cases about the utilization of finances, distribution, and recommendation of policy also the strategy of implementation CERF. The schedule will be focused on the improvement of social investment and the effectiveness of emergency funds. In agenda of the council United Nation, the steering committee listen to the report from UNOCHA as coordinator of CERF about the problem in emergency funds. In the board, there are 19 members as representative from 5 Continents. In the previous, Indonesia as a country with Emergency Funds Receipts in 2018 to respond to earthquake and tsunami events in Central Sulawesi. In the council, Dr. Rachmawati as representative Southeast Asia talking about the funds of CERF has managed by United Nations are WFP, Unicef, UNHCR, UNFPA needs collaborative between central of government with the non-government organization (NGO’s) and private sector as a response in emergency funds.
