JKSG UMY Team Organizes Strategic Plan Preparation Workshop at IPDN Jatinangor

The Jusuf Kalla School of Government (JKSG) team of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), led by Prof. Achmad Nurmandi as Director, has held a workshop focusing on the preparation of strategic plans at the Faculty and Study Program levels at the Faculty of Government Management, Institute of Home Affairs Governance/Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri (IPDN) on July 26, 2023.

The workshop, which took place at the IPDN campus in Jatinangor, West Java, aimed to deepen the understanding of the principles of effective government management to formulate appropriate and relevant strategic plans. Involving more than 50 academic staff from 4 study programs at IPDN’s Faculty of Government Management, the event marked an essential collaboration between the two renowned higher education institutions in Indonesia.

In his speech, Prof. Achmad Nurmandi emphasized the importance of preparing a comprehensive strategic plan in line with the changing times and must be based on accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). He stated, “A strategic plan is the pillar of success for an educational institution. Through this workshop, we aim to develop a strategic plan based on study program accreditation so that study programs at the Faculty of Government Management can adapt to changes and achieve progress more effectively.”

The one day workshop featured presentation sessions and focus group discussions, which aimed to identify data on the nine criteria for study programs and seek opportunities to improve the quality of education and research. The participants also discussed the challenges and potential future threats the study program may face.

Drs. Mustaufik Amin, M Si., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Government Management of IPDN, expressed his excitement for this opportunity. He stated, “We would like to express our great gratitude to the JKSG UMY Team for making valuable contributions in the effort to develop a more mature strategic plan. This collaboration provides valuable perspectives and opportunities to learn from their experiences.”

This workshop reflects JKSG UMY’s and the Faculty of Government Management of IPDN’s strong commitment to improving the quality of education and government management in Indonesia. Involving various parties, including academics, lecturers, and administrative staff, it is hoped that the resulting strategic plan will reflect both institutions’ aspirations and real needs.

As leading educational institutions in Indonesia, UMY and IPDN have an essential role in shaping future leaders with quality and integrity. With a well-thought-out strategic plan, these two institutions are expected to continue to contribute to nation-building and positively impact society.
