The event was organized by LPPSP at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Unismuh Makassar and was attended by academics, researchers, and professionals from various universities in South Sulawesi.

“The workshop aimed to provide participants with knowledge and skills to conduct citation analysis using CiteSpace, a citation analysis tool that allows users to explore patterns and trends in the scientific literature”, explained Professor Nurmandi. Furthermore, the UMY Professor of Government Affairs and Administration UMY stated that “the CiteSpace software is widely used by researchers in various fields, including social sciences, to identify research gaps, emerging topics, as well as influential authors and publications.”

Through the team from JKSG under the guidance of Professor Nurmandi, who also serves as the Director of JKSG UMY, insights were shared on the importance of citation analysis in academic research and its applications in various fields, including public policy and governance.

The workshop also included a practical training session on the use of CiteSpace, where participants learned how to import and analyze bibliographic data, create visualizations, and interpret results. The training session was led by experienced researchers from JKSG UMY.

In his remarks, Andi Luhur Prianto, the Dean of FISIP Unismuh Makassar, emphasized the importance of research in advancing knowledge and contributing to social and economic development. He hoped that the workshop would inspire participants to conduct high-quality research and have a positive impact on society.
