The Student Mobility Program organized by the Doctoral Program of Government Affairs and Administration at Jusuf Kalla School of Government, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), in collaboration with the Doctor of Philosophy Public Administration program at Khon Kaen University, Thailand, aims not only to expand students’ knowledge and experience in the academic field but also to introduce the science and culture of Indonesia.

In this program, Thai students have a opportunity to learn together with students and professors from the Doctoral Program of Government Affairs and Administration at Jusuf Kalla School of Government. They can share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives in the study of government affairs and administration. Additionally, they can gain a deeper understanding of the cultural differences between Indonesia and Thailand and broaden their comprehension of cross-country collaboration.

One of the efforts undertaken in this program is the training on using the CiteSpace application for article writing. Professor Achmad Nurmadi explains that the utilization of CiteSpace in writing meta-analysis, bibliometric analysis, and sciencetometric analysis is crucial in scientific research. By introducing Thai students to this application, the Doctoral Program of Government Affairs and Administration at UMY provides them with an opportunity to develop skills in citation analysis and understand trends and patterns in scientific literature.

Beyond the academic activities, the program also introduces Thai students to the cultural richness of Indonesia. They visit famous cultural sites such as Borobudur and Prambanan temples, which are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Through these visits, students can experience the beauty and grandeur of Indonesia’s historical sites. Moreover, they also visit Indrayanti Beach in Gunungkidul, one of the astonishing natural tourist destinations in Yogyakarta. During these visits, students can appreciate the natural beauty of Indonesia and deepen their understanding of the local culture and way of life.

Thus, the Student Mobility Program serves as a platform not only to expand academic knowledge and skills but also to introduce Indonesian science and culture to international students. Through this exchange, it is hoped that Thai students will bring back valuable experiences and knowledge about Indonesia to their home country and strengthen the academic and cultural ties between Indonesia and Thailand.
